Pankaj Kapur, a Bollywood actor, and his ex-wife Neelima Azeem are the parents of Shahid Kapoor. For those who are unaware, Neelima and Pankaj wed in 1979. However, they split up a few years after getting married in 1984. Later, in 1990, Neelima married Rajesh Khattar, another Bollywood actor, and welcomed son Ishaan Khatter into the world. However, the couple's union was likewise brief, and they filed for divorce in 2001. And in the meantime, Shahid and Rajesh, his stepfather, grew quite close. Now, during a sincere talk, Rajesh disclosed the same information and added a few additional little-known incidents regarding Shahid's early life.

When Siddharth Kannan inquired about some of Shahid's enduring childhood memories, Rajesh shared, "There are so many. It may not be publicly known but he was not great with academics. He often scored average marks. so when it was time for him to get into college, it was stressful."

He added, "Ek baar school me unko ek mohtarma pasand aa gai this to unki photowoto laa kar ghar me laga di thi. Wo jo mera ubaal tha, mai to ghabra gaya tha.(There was this one time he found a liking for this girl in school and he brought her picture and placed it in our house. I was nervous). I did not know how to deal with it. I was scared that he will marry her but his mother calmed me down and told me there is not much to it."

In 1990, Rajesh and Neliima got hitched, and five years later, Ishaan was born. She had previously given birth to Shahid in 1981 and married Pankaj Kapur in 1979. In 2001, Neiima and Rajesh split up.

Additionally, he claimed that he had no idea why his career had fallen off after appearing in movies like Race 3 and Don. He was unemployed for three years. He was able to survive the period by branching into many economic ventures. Later, he was hired as a dubbing artist for movies like Ponniyin Selvan I, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Iron Man.
