Mumbai: Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday was offered by Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil to set up manufacturing for electric cars in the state. Earlier, Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister KT Rama Rao had invited him to set up a store in the state. In his tweet to Musk, Patil had said that Maharashtra is one of the most progressive states in India. He had further stated that he would give Musk all the necessary assistance to be established in India. In addition, the West Bengal government has also invited Tesla to set up a manufacturing plant in the state.

The same Maharashtra minister said he invites Musk to set up his manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. Musk had tweeted on January 13 that the company was facing a lot of challenges in introducing its car in India. Let me tell you that Musk was asked a question by a man whether there is any update on Tesla's launch in India. Musk has been working for his cars in India since 2019. Discussions between veteran Musk and the central government over the local factory are stuck in the US electric car sector. There is also a controversy over the fact that import duty in India has gone up by 100 per cent.

The same musk's tweet has faced severe criticism from the central government. In India, Tesla can sell and sell cars here by bringing them in CKD (completely knocked down) form with zero duty. India has also implemented a PLI scheme for the auto sector. It specifically promotes electric vehicles. Under these, Tesla will benefit if it produces in the country.
