Howrah: After the death of a patient in Howrah, West Bengal, his family members have created a lot of ruckus in the hospital. They vandalised the hospital's equipment and attacked the doctors. Two on-duty of the department of medicine were seriously injured. The case took place at the Government Howrah Hospital on Saturday night. Police have arrested the patient's son.
The family members of the deceased accused the doctors of negligence in treatment. There was a lot of discussion between him and the doctors. And then the angry family members started ransacking the hospital. They damaged the hospital's equipment. The ECG machine was also picked up and thrown away. Two doctors came under the grip of this machine. One doctor suffered an injury in the head while the other doctor's hand was injured.
The names of the doctors injured in the same attack are Prameet Basu and Nabarun Majumdar. Both have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Dr Nabarun Majumdar has suffered a shoulder injury. In fact, 57-year-old patient Kartik Dey was sent for dialysis. But he died at the time of treatment. On this, the family members of the deceased started assaulting the bed in-charge Dr Ankur. Dr Nabarun (MO, ICU, IC) went there to stop the family members of the patient but they were also attacked and then seriously injured. On receiving the information, the police reached the hospital. One person who has been arrested, is Rohit Dey, son of the deceased patient Kartik Dey. He will be produced in court on Sunday.
