Lakshadweep and Maldives have become the main topic of discussion in India these days. After PM Narendra Modi's visit to Lakshadweep, Maldives is also being boycotted in the country. Many people on social media have claimed that their holidays planned in Maldives have also been completely cancelled. At the same time, tour operators have also started preparations to cancel a large number of holidays. Let us tell you, Maldives is one of the favorite places of Indians for holidays.

The impact will be clear after 20-25 days: Indian Association of Tour Operators estimates that the result of the increasing protests against Maldives on social media may become clear within the next 20-25 days. He says that if a person has already booked the flight and hotel then he is not going to cancel it. However, he says that there have been no new inquiries for Maldives in the last few days. Deep Kalra, founder of tour company Make My Trip, has informed that Indians have not canceled pre-planned holidays in Maldives at present. The effect of the trend going on on social media will become clear in the coming few days. At the same time, Association President Rajeev Mehra says that it is expected that people who have paid for flights and hotels are not going to cancel these trips. However, expectations of new bookings are low.

Will bring offers to promote travel in Lakshadweep: Reports say that online tour company Easy My Trip has also suspended all flights to Maldives due to Prime Minister Modi's visit to Lakshadweep and the comments of Maldives ministers. The company's co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Nishant Pitti has posted on Facebook saying that we stand with the country. We have started a campaign to visit Lakshadweep. Continuing his point, he said that the water and beaches of Lakshadweep are as good as Maldives. We are going to come up with special offers to promote travel in Lakshadweep.

Maldives is the first choice of Indians: A tour operator from Delhi has said that Maldives is very popular among Indians. But due to the ongoing debate on social media, the journey seems to be making a difference. If statistics are to be believed, out of the 17.57 lakh tourists who came to Maldives in the year 2023, the maximum number of 2.09 lakh tourists were Indians. After this there are Russia and China. Maldives, located about 750 km south of the mainland of Asia in the Indian Ocean, has a population of 5.15 lakh. There are 1,190 islands here, out of which only 190 are habitable. The government is getting 90% of its income from imported goods and tourism industry.
