New Delhi: Political turmoil in the country has intensified over the past few years, with former Congress President Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account likely to be followed by action on Facebook and Instagram accounts. NCPCR may speak to Rahul Gandhi's Facebook and Instagram accounts to take action. The move is likely to be taken in connection with the post identifying the alleged rape victim.
Earlier, Twitter had blocked Rahul Gandhi's account. Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, posted on Instagram that digital bullying will not work. Some time ago, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account was closed for sharing a photo of the alleged rape and murder victim in Delhi with the parents of a nine-year-old girl. Twitter, on the other hand, says it has taken the decision under the rules.
NCPCR chief Priyank Lawango said we had sought a reply from him within three days and today the period is over. If we do not get the answer, we will take action against them under Section 14 of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005. We have received a complaint in connection with uploading a video on Instagram revealing the identity of the victim. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi issued a statement today saying, "By closing my Twitter account, they are interfering in our political process."
