Agra: The Agra administration said on Monday that traffic between villages and urban centres will remain closed till May 31, as 4 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours in Corona and the total number of victims has reached 807 so far.

On Sunday, the police attempted to push back a crowd of migrant labourers, as the agitated crowd blocked the highway along with setting fire to the garbage heap. Social worker Sonveer Singh, who was present there along with many villagers on Gwalior Road, told the media while talking that most of them are youth. They are desperate to reach their homes under any circumstances. He said that some people told him that coronavirus infection is basically an urban disease and that rural areas are safe from it.

Many people have clearly stated that they will not return to the urban settlements, whatever happens. MNREGA cards are being issued for the supply of migrants and free ration in our villages. District Magistrate PN Singh said that the recovery rate had improved a lot as he returned home on Sunday, but could leave no stone unturned in his efforts to combat the coronavirus.
