Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh and WAPCOS Limited, a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Jal Shakti today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the construction of multi-sports complexes in Leh and Kargil districts of UT of Ladakh.
As a part of this Project, two multi-sports complexes with state-of-the-art facilities will be set up, one in Ladakh and one in Kargil with an approximate cost of Rs. 60 crores, Rs.30 crores each for Leh and Kargil districts. The sites have already been identified and finalized for the project.

''Such projects will provide the platform and boost the youth of Ladakh in the sports sector,'' said Administrative Secretary Ravinder Kumar after signing the MoU on behalf of the department of youth services and sports. He directed WAPCOS to come up with a world-class facility with international standards and complete the project within the stipulated time.
