New Delhi: In the seventh round of talks between the central government and the farmers, no solution was found. Now the next round of meetings has been called on 8 January. The government proposed to form a joint committee to demand the withdrawal of the farmers' law. But the farmer leaders did not agree on this. The only demand for farmers is that the government give assurance in writing on the minimum support price (MSP) and promise to withdraw all three laws.
However, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has made it clear that the three agricultural laws will not be repealed under any circumstances. For this, if the farmer wants, he can knock on the door of the Supreme Court. These things have been told by Sarwan Singh Pandher of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti, who was present in the meeting. He said, “We request the youth of Punjab to prepare for the long haul. We will take out a big procession on Republic Day. "
While hearing on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, on all the petitions challenging the farmers' performance and the three new agriculture laws of the central government, the CJI said in the Supreme Court that all the petitions will be heard simultaneously. The CJI further said that the court will hear the petition filed against the new agricultural law on Monday, January 11, 2021. He also said that he understands the problems of farmers.
