Ahmednagar is a district in Maharashtra. This city is situated on the banks of the river Sina. The city is located in the middle of the state is equally distant from Pune and Aurangabad. Around it, cities such as Nashik, Beed, and Osmanabad are located.

The foundation for settling Ahmednagar was laid in 1490 AD, later Ahmednagar city was repaired by Ahmad Nizam Shah in 1494, hence the name of this city was Ahmednagar. About 1636, the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan adopted this city.

Later, the rules changed from time to time. The Mughal ruler Aurangzeb had spent the last year of his life in this city. It is said that the Nizam had ruled more than 150 years in this city. In 1759 AD the Peshwas and the Marathas had changed the style of Ahmednagar. When the British had lost in 1817, they had come to Ahmednagar under the treaty of Poona.

Tourist Attractions in Ahmednagar: Ahmednagar Fort is one of the main attractions in the city. This fort is a triumphant symbol of Ahmed Nizam Shah's victory over the Daulatabad Fort. Many fighters fought for freedom in this fort. During the Quit India movement in this fort, Jawaharlal Nehru and other freedom fighter had to remain in prison as a prisoner. Here is the tomb of Shalabat Khan, Raoza Bagh, and Kot Bigha Nizam are counted in the historic buildings. Ahmednagar is also an excellent religious place.

There are many temples here - Mohata Devi Maa Mandir, Siddheshwar Temple, Shri Ganapati Temple etc. The birthplace of Sai Baba has situated only a short distance from here.
