CHENNAI: On Wednesday, the governor of Tamil Nadu, R.N. Ravi, will meet with a team of senior AIADMK officials.
D. Jayakumar, Natham R. Viswanathan, K.P. Munuswamy, and VCK Shanmugham are among the representatives of the AIADMK.
The visit of the AIADMK group, according to sources, assumes significance because the Governor is a target of the ruling DMK and its allies on a number of topics, including the NEET Bill.
The Tamil Nadu Governor's recall has even been called by the DMK, and Ravi has come under heavy fire from the DMK's allies, including VCK and the left-leaning parties.
The AIADMK has been making claims and pronouncements that the state's law and order situation is at an all-time low and that police cannot operate freely. According to sources in the AIADMK, the delegation would inform the governor of the state's deteriorating law and order situation.
The AIADMK delegation is expected to bring up this issue with the state administration in light of two consecutive deaths caused by caste rivalry that have shaken the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 12.45 pm. Senior leaders, including Natham R Viswanathan, K P Munusamy, D Jayakumar and C V Shanmugam would be part of the delegation. Palaniswami recently alleged deterioration of law and order in the state.
