The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) enters 49th year today, October 17. AIADMK in the past 48 years have faced 10 elections maintaining vote share between 21.47% (1996) and highest 44.39% (1991). Founded by Dr. M G Ramachandran was led by J Jayalalitha after MGR demisal. After Jayalalitha, the organiozers of AIADMK did not appoint anyone as General Secretary, rather they have organizer, co-organizer, Treasurer, steering committe of 11 members. 

Today, AIADMK to announce its CM candidate

AIADMK is going to face the general elcetions in 2021 without Jayalalitha. this is actually a testing phase for the party. The party is currently in ally with BJP, PMK, DMDK. The party is facing two challenges one is retaining the power in TN state and the other one is maintaining the principal party status. Senior Leaders acknowledge it is a tough situation and the April 2021 elections will be tough to battle. Another senior leader said EPS and OPS were well trainedby J Jayalalitha and the absemce of strong leadership won't disturb the party in any way. unwilling ness to accept DMK rule is another positive wave for AIADMK he said.

In the join statement by Edappadi Palaniswami, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, co-organizer of AIADMK and O Pannerselvam, Organizer of AIADMK they have asked the members to work hard to make AIADMK in power when it celebrates the Golden jubilee year. EPS has been announced as the Chief Minister candidate for the general elcetions 2021.
