New Delhi: AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) leader and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami met President-elect Droupadi Murmu at her residence in the national capital today, July 23.
After the conclusion of the vote counting on Thursday, the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu was formally declared the country's 15th President.
On July 25, Monday, she will be sworn in as India's 15th President in the Central Hall of Parliament, with Chief Justice of India NV Ramana administering the oath of office.
To facilitate members to attend the ceremony, both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will meet that day at 2 p.m. instead of 11 a.m.
On Friday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) certified Droupadi Murmu's election as India's next President. In the presidential election, she defeated opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha, receiving 2,824 votes with a total value of $6,76,803, while Sinha won 1,877 votes with a total value of $3,80,177.
The certificate was given to the panel after the returning officer handed over the Presidential election results. On July 25, President Ram Nath Kovind's term comes to an end.
