BILASPUR:  At the opening of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the hospital will  newely be known as the "Green Hospital."

In his address in Bilaspur, PM Modi said, "We have worked over the past eight years to make sure that the most isolated regions of the nation receive the advantages of growth. In addition to improving access to affordable healthcare at Himachal, AIIMS Bilaspur will also be renowned as "Green AIIMS" and will be environmentally friendly."

PM Modi called the opening of AIIMS a source of pride for Himachal, noting that the state had a significant role to play in "Rashtra Raksha" and that the hospital will now play a "pivotal role in Jeevan Raksha." He also noted that Himachal was one of the three states selected to establish Bulk Drugs Park, which will guarantee that India's citizens have access to affordable medications.

"One of the four states selected for the Medical Device Park is Himachal Pradesh. As part of this, the foundation stone was placed in Nalagarh" he said.

He claimed that medical tourism is another crucial industry that needs to be promoted in Himachal so that when visitors from around the world come to India, they will travel to the state to benefit from its holistic healing, which includes top-notch medical facilities and a stunning, healthy environment.

"It is the Centre's endeavour to decrease the expense on medicines and to also ensure that they obtain the essential treatment without going to far off regions" in order to promote the ease of living for the poor and middle-class sections of society, PM Modi  said.

The protection of the people's dignity  is a top concern for the "double-engine government" in Himachal Pradesh. The provision of protection, security, respect, and health to mothers and sisters is a top priority for the double-engine government, he said. The state is "the land of opportunities" because of tourism, which also offers abundant employment prospects, fertile terrain for growing fruits and vegetables, and the ability to produce power.

In his speech, Prime Minister Modi praised Chief Minister Jairam Thakur for his quick action in putting the plans into motion and claimed that it was only because of the people in the state that many development projects could be launched there.

"Your votes may have made it possible for the opening of AIIMS Bilaspur, the Atal Tunnel, the Hydro-Engineering College in Bandla, and the Medical Device Park in Nalagarh. You only bless me because I bring development projects to the state, and Jairam Thakur makes them successful because of that" he said.
