New Delhi: After concerns about the Oxford-AstraZeneca Corona vaccine causing blood clots in many countries of the world, there is a growing concern in India whether people here may also face such complaints after taking the vaccine. Serum Institute has made this vaccine in the country. In the ongoing immunization campaign in India, people are being given two corona vaccines, one of which is Covishield developed by the Serum Institute. AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria has now told about the possibility of blood clots in India after taking Covishield.

Doctor Guleria says that this is quite rare. He said that such cases were unusual and estimated that of about 1 million vaccinations, no such incident has been reported in the country so far. Dr. Guleria, while interacting with the media, said, "It has quite a rare side effect, which was earlier considered to be a coincidence. It is still very rare and is not seen. Although one or two such in India so far The matter is said to have come to the fore".

Philippines health officials have on Thursday temporarily banned the introduction of the AstraZeneca vaccine to people under the age of 60, with Spain also deciding to limit the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine to only elderly people in the war against the Coronavirus. The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Ireland, and Iceland temporarily suspended the use of the vaccine after reports of cases of blood clots. The use of the vaccine was also banned in Austria and Italy.
