New Delhi: On the warning of a new corona wave by the WHO, Dr Sanjay K Rai, a doctor and epidemiologist of the AIIMS, said that with a large population already infected with infection, there is little chance of another corona wave. WHO had earlier warned of a large-scale corona wave in Europe and Central Asia. WHO also informed that more than 5,00,000 people are expected to die (combined) in Europe and Central Asia by February 2022.

Sanjay's further said, "When a large population becomes infected, there is no possibility of large waves of infection. Natural infections lead to natural immunity leading to a decline in case statistics. Vaccination also reduces the severity and deaths of the disease. It will be in Russia and Central Asia," he explained. There is a wave of viruses, but it will come down by February. This is what happened in every place, including India. A large population was infected here, then cases started declining rapidly. Whenever cases grow rapidly, they also decrease rapidly.

However, he said that it is likely that the death toll in the region may touch 5 lakh by February and even vaccination will not be able to prevent rising deaths suddenly. He said WHO is losing its credibility on the global stage. "WHO is making controversial statements," he said. He said, 'WHO is making controversial statements. It has not been able to trace the origin of the corona. It took them more than 1.5 years to understand that natural infections are protecting individuals, but they are still not giving it much importance.'
