New Delhi: BJP-ruled states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana as well as Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka are mulling law against Love Jihad. In such a situation, many states have said that the law will be made against it. According to the information received, in many states, governments have also started preparing the law for making laws.

Asaduddin Owaisi, president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has attacked the BJP ruled states with regard to the law on love jihad. Recently, he has given advice to the governments of these states and has said in the edification that 'they should read the constitution once before enacting the law'. With this, he said, 'This kind of law is against sections 14 and 21 of the Constitution. After the enactment of this law, the Special Marriage Act will then be abolished. In such a situation, they should read the constitution once before talking about making laws. BJP is adopting such tactics to divert the attention of youth from unemployment.

However, before Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress has also opposed this law. Congress has been questioning BJP leaders that 'inter-religious marriage took place in the family of many BJP leaders. Do these marriages fall under the definition of 'love jihad'? '
