HYDERABAD: Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of the AIMIM, has condemned the purported honour killing of a Hindu man in Hyderabad by the relatives of his Muslim wife.

The murder of Nagraju, according to the Hyderabad MP, is against Islam because the girl had married the guy of her choice, which is legal.

On the night of May 4, Billapuram Nagaraju (25) was hacked to death in the Saroornagar region in front of his wife and in full view of her brother and his buddy.  The accused were both apprehended the next day. Nagaraju married Ashrin Sultana, a school and college classmate, on January 31 this year in Hyderabad's Arya Samaj temple. Owaisi said, the two men had no reason to kill her spouse.

"Murder is the worst crime in Islam," he said at the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIMEid )'s Milap performance in Darussalam on Friday. The MP stated that the Majlis condemns the murder and praised the Telangana government's prompt arrest of the suspects, adding that they should be punished.

Owaisi stated emphatically that his party will not support killers. "You have no right to murder someone. Be afraid of Allah. According to the Holy Quran, killing one innocent human being is equivalent to killing all humanity, and saving one human being is equivalent to saving all humanity." He claimed that some members of the media are attempting to cast the situation in a communal light by pointing fingers at him.
