AIMPLB asks for withdrawing Triple Talaq bill, shocking says BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, as acted in response to the All India Muslim Personal Law Board's (AIMPLB) demand to take out the Triple Talaq Bill, alleged the proposal put into view was "shocking", adding that the Centre is simply looking for enforcement of the Supreme Court's order.

BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi told ANI that it is very shocking that the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has demanded the Triple Talaq bill to be taken out. The practice of Talaq-e-bidat is a bit that tears down the structure of the family. Blame is imposed without knowing who is guilty and is used as a way to run away maintaining a family life. There is nothing meaningless about this bill; the Centre is looking for enforcement of the Supreme Court's verdict.

Meenakshi Lekhi alleged that BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain raised question why the board did not put into view any representation when they were first approached concerning the issue.

She further said when the government moved the AIMPLB at first; they did not want to put forth any depiction. Now, unexpectedly, “why are they opposing it? If they wanted to be represented, they should have done so before it,” ANI quoted as she saying.

The AIMPLB on Sunday asked for the Central Government to take out and keep back the Triple Talaq bill.

In Lucknow, AIMPLB's Sajjad Nomani as asking for the removal of the bill also blamed the Centre for not following the laid procedure in drafting the bill.

AIMPLB also alleged the Bill was in opposition to women and children, and if executed, would tear down many families. (NT)
