Srinagar: After a sudden deteriorating situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the fares of the flight to Srinagar and the oncoming flight were seen to be on the rise. Meanwhile, Air India has come out as a relief to the passengers. The aircraft has decided to cut the fares of all its flights to and from Srinagar by August 15. On Sunday, dhananjay Kumar, the airline's spokesperson, said that the matter was not in the case.
Talking to the press, Dhananjay said the flight fare will be limited to Rs 9500 during the period. The decision has been taken in view of the security advisory issued on Friday. It may be mentioned that the Civil Aviation Ministry has instructed the airlines to reduce the fare of the flight for pilgrims returning from Amarnath Yatra. The Amarnath Yatra was interrupted and air fares were seen to surge.
According to a travel portal, tickets from low-cost airlines like Indigo, SpiceJet, GoAir and AirAsia for one-way air travel from Srinagar to Delhi also went up from Rs 10,000 to Rs 22,000. The normal fare is Rs 3,000. With flights from Srinagar on Saturday and Sunday, web portals of several airlines showed that all the seats had been booked.
