NEW DELHI: As the holiday season gets underway on October 1, Air India has unveiled a specially crafted menu for its domestic travellers.

The new in-flight menu highlights India's locally derived culinary influence with a selection of gourmet entrees, chic appetisers, and luscious desserts. To satisfy the palate of the entire world, it also includes superb versions of regional specialties from streets and kitchens all around the global palate.

At the same time, utmost attention will be paid to ensure that menu items are wholesome and remain hygienic from the kitchen to the tray-table. At the time of booking, Air India customers can choose the meals they desire.

The new menu offers a wide range of delectable hot meals, enticing sweets, and cool drinks including fresh juices and smoothies. Every meal is prepared to the highest levels of hygienic and nutritional requirements.

In addition to Indian dishes like aloo parantha, meduvada, and podiidly for breakfast, business class passengers on board can look forward to buttery and flaky croissants, sugar-free dark chocolate oatmeal muffins, cheese and truffle oil scrambled eggs with chives, mustard cream coated chicken sausage, etc. for lunch. The airline will serve Mumbai batatawada, chicken 65, and grilled sliced pesto chicken sandwiches for high tea.

Customers travelling in economy class can enjoy a range of breakfast options like cheese mushroom omelette, dry jeera aloo wedges, garlic tossed spinach and maize, and lunch dishes include delectable vegetable biryani, Malabar chicken curry, and mixed vegetable poriyal. The passengers' high tea menu includes coffee truffle slice, blueberry vanilla pastry, and vegetable fried noodles with chilli chicken.

To ensure that the flyers enjoy a gourmet lunch with an emphasis on health and well-being, the new menu options have been carefully selected. The new menu offers options that bring together culinary expertise from several countries as several festivals draw near. We are eager to provide this new menu on domestic flights, and we are also hard at work reimagining the menu for foreign routes."
