New Delhi: A team of 4 women pilots from Air India has achieved a new feat by flying over the north pole, the world's longest air route. After flying from San Francisco in the United States on Sunday, the team of women pilots arrived at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru via the North Pole. A distance of about 16,000 kilometers was fixed during the journey.

Air India welcomed its Twitter handle as soon as the aircraft landed in India. In a tweet, Air India wrote, "Welcome home, we are proud of all of you (women pilots). We also congratulate the passengers of AI176, who became part of this historic journey. Let us say that the flight was fully operated by a woman pilot, including Capt Zoya Agarwal, Capt Papagiri Thanmei, Capt Akanksha, and Capt Shivani. The flight was being led by Captain Zoya Agarwal.

After landing at Bengaluru Airport, Captain Zoya Agarwal said, "Today we have created a world history not only by flying over the North Pole but only by women pilots successfully. We are feeling very happy and proud to be a part of it. This route has saved 10 tonnes of fuel.
