Under this deal, Nokia will install the necessary equipment to develop Airtel's 5G network capacity in nine circles of the country. Nokia is the largest vendor in Airtel's 4G network. Under this agreement, the Finnish company will install 300,000 radio units of different spectrum bands. This will help in creating the necessary infrastructure for 5G connectivity in future. At the same time, reliable sources related to the industry told IANS on Tuesday that the size of this deal is about one billion dollars (about 7,636 crore).

Bharti Airtel MD and CEO (India and South Asia) Gopal Vittal said in a statement, "We have been working with Nokia for more than a decade and are excited that We will use Nokia's SRAN products to further improve our capacity and network coverage. ”He added that Bharti Airtel is preparing to enter the 5G era. This agreement between the two giant companies is very important because India is the second largest telecom market in the world.
