New Delhi: Telecom conglomerate Bharti Airtel Limited will raise prepaid charges by roughly 20 percentl. As a result, the higher tariffs will be implemented on November 26, 2021.

"Bharti Airtel has always maintained that the mobile 'Average Revenue Per User' should be at Rs 200, and eventually at Rs 300, to give a decent return on capital that allows for a financially sound business model," the telecom provider stated in a regulatory filing.

"We also believe that this level of 'Average Revenue Per User' will allow for the significant network and spectrum investments that are required. Even more importantly, Airtel would have more room to roll out 5G in India as a result of this." According to the filing, this modification is part of their "rebalancing" of tariffs, the telecom major said.
