Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Fanney Khan in 2018 which failed to impress the audience. Now, according to the report of Mid Day Aishwarya has given a nod to play a negative character in Mani Ratnam's upcoming period drama.
Mid Day quoted a source saying, film story is set in 10th century before Raja Chola became a king. Aishwarya will be seen as Nandini, the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, who served as the chancellor and treasurer of the Chola kingdom.
The source further added that Aishwarya’s character is written as a mysterious, power-hungry woman who manipulates her husband to plan the downfall of the Chola empire because she has been wronged by them."
Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam's bonding goes back a long way ever since her debut with Iruvar (1997), so you can only imagine how special this film is going to be for both of them. The last time Aishwarya was asked about this Mani Ratnam film, Dhoom 2 actress had said, "There is a discussion about a film, but we have to really pick up our conversation from where we left it.
