Eew days ago, A 40-year-old cancer patient from Rajasthan asked actor Ajay Devgn to stop endorsing tobacco products. On the request of the petient Nanakram, Ajay has decided that he won't promote such products as they have a negative impact on society. In an interview, Ajay told PTI that he has always maintained in his contracts that he is not promoting tobacco.
The ads Ajay does are of ilaaichi (cardamom) and his contracts mention that they will be non-tobacco. The actor added that if the company for which he does a commercial sells something else, he doesn't know what to do. The Golmaal actor also stated that he will try his best to not smoke on screen if his character in a film doesn't demand it.
Ajay Devgn will be next seen in the romantic comedy titled De De Pyaar De. Talking about the same, the told PTI that in the film, he is playing a regular man who does not smoke. He added, "But if I'm playing a Malik bhai in a film like 'Company', how will it be without smoking? Without taking any names, we were playing somebody (real) who smoked. So it would have been wrong to not show it as it would not be true to the role."
De De Pyaar De is slated to release on May 17, 2019.
