Maharashtra Cabinet: Ajit Pawar becomes Minister of Finance, Aditya gets tourism and Environment Department

Mumbai: The allocation of departments in the Government of Maharashtra has been announced on Sunday morning. State Deputy CM and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar has been given the charge of the Finance Ministry and Planning Ministry. Anil Deshmukh of NCP has been made the Home Ministry, while Uddhav Thackeray's son Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray has been assigned tourism and environment.

Chhagan Bhujbal of NCP has been made the Minister of Consumer Affairs. Dhananjay Munde has been given the charge of the Ministry of Social Justice. Nawab Malik has been given the Ministry of Minority Development. Eknath Shinde of Shiv Sena has been given the charge of the Ministry of Urban Development, while Subhash Desai has been given the Ministry of Industry and Mining as well as the Marathi Language Ministry. The charge of the Agriculture Ministry has been given to Dadaji Dagdu Bhuse and Water Department to Gulabrao Patil.

Congress leader Balasabeh Thorat has been assigned the revenue department and Ashok Chavan as the PWD department. Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had handed over the list of cabinet ministers and his proposed portfolio, which was approved by the state governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Sunday, now he has been allotted the department.
