Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday reached Azamgarh for the first time after the defeat in the Lok Sabha by-election. Here, the SP chief met SP MLA Ramakant Yadav, who is lodged in Itaura jail. Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav made a statement and said that the BJP government is working to harass the opposition. Leaders are being sent to jail in fake cases. Apart from this, Akhilesh Yadav said that leaders of opposition parties in both Azamgarh or Rampur were sent behind bars in fake cases.
