Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav has become active in the presidential election to get maximum votes for Yashwant Sinha, the opposition candidate from Uttar Pradesh. It is his endeavor that all the MPs and MLAs of his and allies should vote for him with complete solidarity. Therefore, Akhilesh Yadav has called a meeting of all his MPs and MLAs at the party headquarters on Friday.

Samajwadi Party (SP) and its allies together have 125 MLAs, ally RLD, SP together with independents have five members in the Rajya Sabha. There are currently three MPs in the Lok Sabha. By-elections are being held for two seats. If SP wins them, then there will be five MPs. The cost of an MLA in UP is 208 and that of an MP is 700. In this way the value of their votes including SP and allies is 26000. The price of MPs is not included in this. Actually, Akhilesh Yadav has more responsibility to get Yashwant Sinha more and more votes of the opposition.

Yashwant Sinha is the leader of TMC and SP has good relations with Trinamool Congress. Not only this, Yashwant Sinha also has good relations with Akhilesh Yadav and he had also come to the SP headquarters sometime back. Because of this also Akhilesh Yadav has become very active for him. It is also a challenge for the SP that there should be complete solidarity of its MLAs. Last time in the presidential election, one or two SP MLAs had supported the NDA candidate. Since voting is secret, it is not possible to find out who voted for whom.
