Questions are also being raised about the silence of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav regarding the controversial statement.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is now seen coming into active mode after the controversy escalated. Akhilesh Yadav has summoned Swami Prasad Maurya amidst the Ramcharitmanas controversy. Swami Prasad Yadav has reached the Samajwadi Party office in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow to present his case in front of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav and Swami Prasad Maurya's meeting is going on in the Samajwadi Party office. According to Samajwadi Party sources, Akhilesh Yadav has summoned Swami Prasad Maurya over his controversial statement regarding Ramcharitmanas. It is said that Akhilesh Yadav is angry with Swami Prasad Maurya's statement regarding Ramcharitmanas.

Significantly, the Samajwadi Party had distanced itself from the statement of Swami Prasad Maurya. Shivpal Yadav, avoiding the statement of Swami Prasad Maurya, had said that Samajwadi Party is a party following the ideals of Ram and Krishna. Although, Samajwadi Party's National President Akhilesh Yadav kept silent on the whole controversy, about which questions were being raised continuously. Swami Prasad Maurya had termed Akhilesh's silence as consent. This statement of Swami Prasad is considered one of the reasons for Akhilesh Yadav's displeasure with him.
