Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) has announced one more candidate for the 11 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Initially, there were reports that Dimple Yadav might go to the Upper House on behalf of SP, but now Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) national president Jayant Chaudhary has been given a Rajya Sabha ticket by the SP. Jayant Chaudhary will be the joint candidate of SP-RLD.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has tweeted from its official Twitter handle on Thursday that, 'Jayant Chaudhary will be the joint candidate of the Rajya Sabha from the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal.' Earlier, the SP has nominated Javed Ali, the Muslim face of the SP and Kapil Sibal, who was a Union minister in the Congress government, as its candidates. Sibal has filed his nomination as an independent. SP is supporting them.
