Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Tuesday, December 14 that inflation has multiplied under the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) government.

In a press meet in Jaunpur, he told reporters, "The BJP promised to quadruple income in 2017, but inflation has risen since the party took power. Farmers are not receiving manure or urea; people have lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic; over 700 farmers have perished fighting farm rules, and the government has been obliged to repeal them."

"Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is quite well aware that none of the rivers are clean," he said, "and so he decided not to take a swim in Maa Ganga (in Varanasi yesterday)." "If all of us come together, we can persuade the people of Uttar Pradesh and win 400 seats (in the next Assembly elections)," the former CM added.
