Lucknow: A controversy has arisen over the issue of EVM movement before the election results in the country's largest state, UP. Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has surrounded the Bharatiya Janata Party, raising this issue. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has given a clarification on this issue. The Election Commission has issued a statement saying that the EVM machines seized from the vehicle in Varanasi were brought for the purpose of training the counting of votes for the officers. The Election Commission said that these machines were not used in voting. The commission has given an explanation by issuing a letter.

Along with this, the Election Commission has written that the incident of carrying Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in a vehicle has come to its notice in Varanasi on March 8. Political representatives have expressed objection to this. According to the District Election Officer, the EVMs were brought for training. For the training of counting officers, training has been organized in the district on March 9. For this, the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) was being taken from the storage of a separate food warehouse in the market to the training site Uttar Pradesh College. It was to be used in the second training of personnel engaged in counting duty on 9 March. These machines are always used for hands-on training. Whatever political parties are saying about machines is just a rumour.

The Election Commission said that the Electronic Voting Machines used in voting are kept sealed inside the strong room. These machines are protected in the 3 layer security cordon of the central paramilitary forces. They have nothing to do with the machines used for training. The machines kept in the strong room are under the supervision of CCTV. Representatives of candidates of all political parties are continuously monitoring the machines 24 hours seven days through CCTV coverage. The District Election Officer / District Magistrate of Varanasi has also given this news to the representatives of political parties. Let us inform that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had said that an attempt is being made to rigging the elections. Three EVM-laden vehicles were caught in Banaras. Two vehicles left, but one was caught by the workers of the Samajwadi Party.
