Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) is gearing up for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in a few months. Meanwhile, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President Jayant Chaudhary reached the house of SP national president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday. The two leaders are expected to hold talks on seat sharing today.

The Samajwadi Party has formed alliances with several smaller parties for the elections. Akhilesh has joined the Sulehdev Bharatiya Samaj Party in eastern UP while announcing that he will contest with RLD in West UP. But no consensus has been reached so far on seat sharing between the two parties. Both Jayant and Akhilesh have also held two major rallies jointly but the screw is still stuck on seat sharing.

Jayant is reportedly asking for more seats and Akhilesh is not ready for it. Talks are stuck between the two over some seats in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut. Jayant has come to Lucknow on Thursday to talk about the same. It is believed that the matter will be fixed on the seats today. In fact, RLD is seeking 50 seats from the SP when Akhilesh Yadav wants to give only 30-32 seats.
