Agra: As part of the strategy to unite opposition forces for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will join Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Agra on February 25. This important political development will give impetus to efforts to defeat BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

Reestablishment of the alliance: Efforts are being made to reestablish the broken Congress-SP alliance in 2024 after the defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Akhilesh Yadav's participation in the yatra is an important step in this direction.

Congress invitation: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge himself had invited Akhilesh to join the yatra in Agra. UP Congress President Ajay Rai and Congress leader PL Punia reached SP headquarters in Lucknow and handed over the invitation letter to Akhilesh.

Possible presence of Priyanka Gandhi : There is a possibility that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi may also join the yatra in Agra. She had earlier attended Rahul's visit in Hapur.

Agreement on seat sharing: In Uttar Pradesh, an agreement has been reached on seat sharing in the ratio of 40:40 between Congress and SP. Congress will contest on 17 seats, while other candidates from SP and India Bloc will contest on the remaining 63 seats.

Rahul Gandhi's address: Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting at Tehra village in Agra. This meeting will play an important role in setting the opposition agenda for the 2024 elections.

Election Strategy: Akhilesh Yadav joining Rahul Gandhi's visit is an important part of the opposition strategy for the 2024 elections. This will strengthen the alliance and increase its chances of defeating BJP.

Other important points:

  • Akhilesh Yadav was earlier supposed to join the yatra in Rae Bareli and Amethi, but due to no decision on seat sharing, he did not join.
  • There are 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Akhilesh Yadav joining Rahul Gandhi's visit is an important step in uniting opposition forces for the 2024 elections and strengthening efforts to defeat the BJP.
