Lucknow: After the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022, there is a buzz within the Samajwadi Party (SP) that if SP chief Akhilesh Yadav leaves Karhal's seat, Swami Prasad Maurya may be fielded from this seat. There is talk that some of the big leaders close to Akhilesh have put this formula within the party, but there is no confirmation.

In fact, on Sunday, there was a closed-door conversation between Akhilesh Yadav and Swami Prasad Maurya. It is being told that the reason for the defeat in the election was reviewed and at the same time, the BJP's deliberate campaign for the defeat of Swamy from Fazilnagar was cited as the reason. A section of the party believes that Akhilesh Yadav will not leave the Karhal seat this time and will give a key message for the 2027 battle by staying in the House. On the other hand, there is speculation that the SP chief will leave his seat for Prasad Maurya himself and give a big message to the non-Yadav OBCs so that the party can take advantage of its new strategy of non-Yadav OBCs in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

However, at the moment, there has been no official statement from the party in this regard. Now, on March 21, there is a meeting of the Samajwadi Party(SP) legislature party and the leader of the legislature party is also to be elected.
