Lucknow: SP National President Akhilesh Yadav gave a statement on the violence in JNU on Sunday, January 5, 2020, and said that it was thought attack which was carried out by BJP. He said that the police is standing with the perpetrators of violence. The people of BJP want to ruin democracy. He also showed the video of the violence in BHU and said that the same happened there.

According to the sources, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav condemned the incident by tweeting and demanded a judicial inquiry into it. He tweeted that the way masked criminals have violently attacked students and teachers in JNU is highly condemnable. There should be an immediate high-level judicial inquiry into this matter.

Late Sunday evening, some masked miscreants armed with hockey and rod attacked the students and teachers in the campus at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University. The miscreants vandalized and brought the property to a great extent. Indecency and beatings were also carried out with several female-male security personnel present on the premises. The JNU administration had to call the police to control the situation. Police flagged the premises in view of the situation. Till late night many top officers of Delhi Police camped in JNU campus. Apart from Delhi Police, Para Military also had to be deployed. The JNU administration has registered an FIR in the case. More than 25 people have been injured in this attack.
