Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth magnum opus movie 2.0 has broken many records at the box office and has set new benchmarks worldwide. The most recent milestone, which the sci-fi venture has pull off, is that it has become the uppermost Tamil grosser in the USA market with the whopping collections of $ 4.49 million. It is noted that the earlier record was held by another Rajinikanth starrer Kabali, which had racked up $ 4.15 million throughout its theatrical run. It is a sequel to Shankar's 2010 smash hit Enthiran. 2.0 has been produced by Lyca Productions and released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on November 29. 2018. 2.0 features Rajinikanth in three different avatars. It also stars Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in significant roles. With this movie Akshay made his southern film debut. He plays the antagonist in the film. The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 600 crore.

In the film, Rajinikanth appears in a scientist and a robot character.
