Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is in news but this time not for his film for question his citizenship. His absence from the polling booth became pretty conspicuous. Things became a little vaguer when at the screening of Karan Kapadia's debut vehicle, Blank, Akshay Kumar was asked by a mediaperson about his absence from the voting stations, and the actor walked off without giving any proper answer.Akshay has often been probed about rumours that he has Canadian citizenship and does not hold an Indian passport.

Earlier, during the promotions of his 2017 film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay told that he has honorary citizenship of Canada, which was bestowed on him by the government of the western country.  However, if one goes by the list of people who have been given honorary citizenship by Canada, Akshay Kumar’s name does not feature in it.
