The movie was directed by Prabhu Deva and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was its producer. Meanwhile, an update has surfaced on the movie saying that writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, father of famous director SS Rajamouli, is also working on the script of 'Rowdy Rathore 2.' He himself has confirmed this.

Long time update: According to media reports, Shabina Khan, co-producer of 'Rowdy Rathore,' confirmed the sequel to the movie last year. There have also been reports that the shooting of 'Rowdy Rathore' was scheduled to begin last year i.e. However, after a long time, a new update has come out about the movie.

Bhansali contacts KV Vijayendra?: Reports say that writer KV Vijayendra has spoken about the movie saying that producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali had approached him to write the script of 'Rowdy Rathore 2' and he is currently working on it. It is reported that KV Vijayendra is planning to finish the script of the movie soon. 'Rowdy Rathore' was a remake of the Telugu movie Vikramarkudu which was written by Prasad. However, it is also being said that the sequel to Rowdy Rathore is all set to debut in Hindi only.
