Khandwa: An excise officer from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh has made a controversial statement. In fact, in his statement, he claims that 'drinkers do not lie.' Talking to reporters last Thursday, District Excise Officer RP Kirar claimed that "oral confirmation of both dose vaccines is enough for customers buying liquor.''

Let us also inform all of you that the Khandwa Administration of Madhya Pradesh has made vaccination mandatory for the sale of liquor to customers in the district. In fact, last Wednesday, the District Excise Officer in Khandwa issued an order and said that liquor shops should be given liquor only to those who have received both doses of the covid-19 vaccine. On the other hand, the November 17 order has stated the objective of the district administration to immunize every resident under the ongoing 'Vaccination Mahaabhiyan.'

In view of all this, excise officer Kirar said in his statement, "Liquor will be sold at liquor shops only to those who have received both doses of COVID vaccine. Customers are being asked orally about it and boards are being put up.'' When asked what the verification process would be, he said, 'It is on the honesty of the customers. If he says he has been vaccinated, it's enough. In my experience, people who drink alcohol don't lie. No vaccination proof is required.' Let me tell you all that 7,80,80,750 people have been vaccinated against covid till 18th November in Madhya Pradesh. Out of this list, 5,04,61,867 have received their first dose and 2,76,18,883 have received both doses.
