Indian soldiers deployed on the border of China have been asked to delete more than 40 applications (apps). Intelligence agencies say that these apps can have a Chinese link. After this development, applications like Wechat, UC News, Truecaller, and News-Dog have come under scrutiny. 

The personnel posted on Chinese Border will format the Smartphone Intelligence agencies on November 24 in their instructions sent to Indian border personnel posted on the border of China to format their smartphones and urged to immediately delete the applications that threaten National Security.​

Agencies say that many Android / iOS apps have been made by Chinese developers or these apps have Chinese links, which can be spyware. According to the agencies, many applications are not safe for Secret Communications. Agencies have sent a long list of mobile applications to uninstalled mobile applications to the Security Forces

Truecaller said we do not have any Chinese connections. Right now, UC News is an app developed by Alibaba Group. However, the Mobile Communications App Truecaller has made it clear that there is no link with China. The company has said, 'We want to make it clear that we are a Swedish based company. We do not know why our name is on this list, but we are investigating it."​

These developments have come a few months after that sentence, in which the Indian government has disclosed more than two dozen smartphone companies (mostly Chinese companies) to disclose the procedure to be taken to ensure the security of mobile phones sold in India.
