Aligarh: A Hindu student of MTech was allegedly made to chant 'Pakistan Zindabad' at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district. It is alleged that the Muslim students have also brutally beaten the Hindu student for not raising slogans and not removing the thread tied in his hand. Not only this, but the accused Muslim students have also threatened to forcibly wear the hijab to the victim's sister. After getting the news of this incident, the police swung into action and registered a case against the accused under relevant sections and started investigating.
According to the report, Saket Kumar, a student from Karnwas village in Bulandshahr, has lodged a complaint with the police. He is a first-year MTech student at AMU. He said in his complaint that he was caught by a drunk Muslim student named Rahwar in AMU's Suleiman Hall and put a pistol on his head and forcibly made to shout Pakistan Zindabad slogans. Not only this, but the accused Rahwar also removed the threat tied in his hand. When he resisted, the accused beat him up and attacked him with a knife. According to the complaint, the accused Rahwar also threatened the victim's sister to forcibly wear a hijab.
Saket Kumar, a Hindu student who was injured in the attack, was rushed to the medical college by his fellow students. The victim said that after being discharged from the hospital, he lodged a complaint with the police. It is also alleged that his complaint was not only taken lightly by the police but the case has also been registered in light sections. After this, Hindutva organizations protested at the Civil Lines police station about the victim student. After this, the police have assured appropriate action. According to the information, the accused student Rahwar has been embroiled in such controversies many times in the past. It was Rahwar who had threatened a Hindu student of AMU to wear a hijab through social media a year ago. In this case, the police had also taken action against the accused.
