New Delhi: All central monuments and museums which are ASI protected, including the Taj Mahal, are under closure due to the global epidemic Corona virus. Now, under the ASI, all centrally protected monuments/sites and museums will be opened from June 16. These sites have been closed since April 16 due to the Covid epidemic. The second wave of corona infection caused a hue and cry across the country, after which the Union Tourism Ministry decided to close all central monuments. The number of corona deaths in the country had suddenly increased in April-May.
ASI had earlier ordered the closure of all centrally protected monuments from April 16 to May 15. The ASI then issued an order on May 12 to keep them closed once again till June 15. Meanwhile, cases of corona infection continue to decline in the country. In the last 24 hours, there have been 70,421 new corona cases, the lowest since March 31.
Meanwhile, there have been 3,921 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours. The figures were shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday. This is the seventh consecutive day that less than one lakh covid cases have been reported in India.
