PATNA: Following the RJD's assessment of the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government's performance in Bihar over the past year and a half, former deputy chief minister and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi said that for all the development works in Bihar, a big chunk of money comes from the Central Government.

He cited the re-construction of the four-lane Mahatma Gandhi Setu (Bridge) as an example. On Tuesday, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, will open the bridge connecting Patna and Hajipur.

The RJD has done nothing to help the state and has only made accusations against NDA government of Bihar and Centre. Only because of the Narendra Modi government's special package was the Mahatma Gandhi bridge able to be rebuilt. Why did Lalu Prasad Yadav not press the Centre for a special package for Bihar, development works, and the repair of the Mahatma Gandhi Setu when he was Railway Minister in the UPA government for five years? "Modi enquired.
"A number of four-lane road projects are underway in Bihar, including the Patna-Arrah-Buxar four-lane road, Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama-Khagaria four-lane road, six-lane bridge parallel to JP Setu, Hajipur Chhapra four-lane road, and a number of road and rail bridges around the state," Modi added.

Tourism, the Barauni refinery, the Barauni fertiliser factory, the second AIIMS in Darbhanga, the Darbhanga airport, the expansion of Patna airport, and the convention centre in Bodh Gaya were all built in the state thanks to the efforts of the Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar governments" said the BJP leader.
