All England Championship 2018: PV Sindhu will battle against Jindapol

India badminton star PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth had a fairly decent outing in Round 1 of the All England Badminton Championships 2018 and moving on to round two, the duo will face fairly easy opponents today. Fourth seed Sindhu will face Thailand’s Nitchaon Jindapol, while Srikanth goes up against China’s Huang Yuxiang. HS Prannoy, who beat a higher-ranked opponent in Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei in round one, will have another tough match today against Tommy Sugiarto.

In the doubles, men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will face the formidable Danish duo of Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen. In mixed doubles, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy will takes on Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping. Kidambi Srikanth registered a hard-fought victory over Brice Leverdez of France in the opening round

Saina suffered a straight-game defeat against World No. 1 and defending champion Tai Tzu-Ying. Sai Praneeth surprised Son Wan Ho by clinching the first game 21-13 but the fifth seed Korean staved off challenge posed by the Indian player with ease and won the next two games 21-15, 21-11 to make into the second round. Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy registered the straight games 21-19, 21-13 victory over Marvin Emil Seidel and Linda Efler of Germany in the mixed doubles first round.
