Srinagar: Former Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir CM and National Conference (NC) president Omar Abdullah on Wednesday accused airlines of committing day-to-day dacoities due to increased fare rates after cancelling all flights to and from Srinagar due to bad weather.

"Today all the flights were cancelled and those who had given 3 to 4 thousand rupees for their seats have been asked to book the tickets again. Suddenly the fare was increased from 12 thousand to 14 thousand. Even after that, there is no interference from the government." In response to Abdullah's tweet, the AAI tweeted that the options of refund and rescheduling have been offered by all airlines at no additional cost for all the flights cancelled today. The affected passengers can approach the concerned airlines call centre for refund or rescheduling."

Due to heavy snowfall and bad weather in the Kashmir Valley, all flights have been cancelled at Srinagar airport, which affected the air traffic to and from Kashmir on Wednesday. Kuldeep Singh, director of airports authority of India (AAI), Srinagar airport, said, "All flights of all airlines have been cancelled."
