The month of December is coming to an end. Cold wave conditions are now intensifying in many hilly and plain areas. The MET department has also warned of cold waves in the plains in view of the snowfall and cold in the mountains. In fact, recently, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the New Year may have to be welcomed with extreme cold in some parts of north India. The list includes Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan where cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in some parts of the country. On the other hand, the weather agency said that rain and hailstorm are also likely to occur in some parts of the country in the next few days.

Let me tell you all that the IMD has recently said, "Cold wave is likely to prevail in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from 31st December 2021 to 2nd January 2022. With this, cold wave conditions are likely to occur in northern Rajasthan on 1st and 2nd January.'' In addition, the weather agency has also warned of severe cold wave conditions in Bihar on December 29 and 30. With this, dense fog is likely to occur in different parts of Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan at night and morning during the next three days.

Let me tell you that dense fog may occur in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh on 30th and 31st December and eastern India during 31st December and 1st January. At the same time, IMD predicted rain in northwest India on December 28, central India on December 28 and 29 and eastern India from December 28 to 30. Recently, the Weather Agency said that western disturbances are feared as a cyclonic circulation remains over north Pakistan and the neighbourhood. It is also said that a cyclonic circulation is formed in southwest Rajasthan and its neighbourhood. In view of these conditions, Light to moderate rain and snowfall is likely to occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on December 29, while Uttarakhand is likely to receive light to moderate rain and snowfall on December 30.

It has also been informed that light rain is likely to occur in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Rajasthan on 29th December. Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive heavy rain on December 29. In Western Uttar Pradesh, thundershowers, lightning and hailstorm are also expected on December 30.
