The 66th National Film Awards were announced on Friday. It has given the best film awards to films such as 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', 'Andhadhunn', 'Badhai Ho' and 'Padman', and it was announced through a press conference by feature film category president Rahul Raval, non-feature film category president AS Kanal and cinema. The best writing has been done by Chairman Utpal Borpujari.

A report on the 66th National Film Awards was first submitted to Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday by the presidents and other members of the jury. Akshay Kumar's film 'Padman' has been declared the best film on social issues. Ayushman Khurana and Vicky Kaushal jointly won the 2018 Best Actor award for their outstanding performances in 'Andhadhun' and 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'.

On this occasion, Akshay Kumar said, "I was in the middle of the Mission Mangal promotion when Tina asked me if it was true that 'Padman' has actually won the National Award for Best Film on Social Issues and all the tiredness of my promotion by listening to this news disappeared."

He also revealed that the last time he and Sonam Kapoor were on the set of 'Padman' was when the National Film Awards were announced. 'Padman', released in 2018, was a social drama film, directed by R Balki, and was produced by Twinkle Khanna. When it comes to the work front, Akshay's upcoming film 'Mission Mangal' is going to be released in cinemas on August 15.
