Bhubaneswar: All the express and passenger trains are likely to restart services from April 1, said a senior East Coast Railway (ECoR) official on Friday.
East Coast Railway public relations officer said that at present 59 pairs of trains are operating on various routes due to Covid-19 restrictions. Already, 72% frequency of train services has been achieved and the number of trains including express and passenger trains will go up in the State soon.
The senior official further informed that around 89 pairs of trains were operating from the State before the imposition of the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.
“We are getting constant requests for increasing the number of trains. We are in constant touch with the officials of Odisha government and Railway Board. We hope that the number of Express and Passenger trains will increase from April,” the ECoR official said.
