Lucknow:  Taking a strong stand in a case of rape of minors, the Allahabad High Court has termed rape as a violation of fundamental rights. The High Court in its order said that rape is not only a crime against the victim, but it is also an offence against the entire society. This violates the fundamental right to life. If action is not taken in such a case, people will lose faith in the justice system. The High Court rejected the bail plea of the accused.

The high court further said that in the case of rape of an eight-year-old minor girl, life imprisonment may extend from 20 years to life imprisonment. Also, fines can be imposed. In such a situation, the accused cannot be considered innocent before the trial. The court has refused to release the accused who raped the eight-year-old minor girl on bail.

The high court said that the eight-year-old girl does not know the consequences of rape and its consequences. In India, children are worshipped. Even after this, the crime of molestation, and rape of girls is increasing. Girls are suffering from mental harassment and depression. Some are ending their lives too. In many cases, such incidents are suppressed to save the honour of the family. This hurts the soul of the victim.
